The Blank Tapes are primarily Matt Adams with various friends and musicians playing along for shows and recordings. Costa Mesa, CA is their current home. Their first album "Country Western Honky Tonk Saloon Blues" (2003) was recorded on an 8-track cassette tape recorder. Many of those songs, including "Newport Beach," have had steady radio play throughout parts of the westcoast. the OC Weekly proclaimed "Blank Tapes; Your new favorite band" on their cover page in 2004. Now the blank tapes are finishing up their 2nd album called "Landfair" due out this Spring. Their 5th tour is also in the works for this June.
